Te Toto Loop
(On the Wild West Coast)
You’re off to the Wild West Coast!
This video is the quickest way to explain your line. It’s worth taking a minute to watch it! If you prefer written instructions and a map, scroll down.
Your line: Te Toto Loop
Entry point: Park about 850m South of Te Toto Gorge Carpark - you’ll find a spot there to leave your car.
Cross the road to access TTT. There are 35 bait stations (and 28 traps).
Exit point: Walk North, back to your car, along the road.
Your line is also a trapline, so if you think you can manage both baiting and trapping, why not take your trapping kit along too?
Be ready for DOC200s & Flipping Timmies.
On TrapNZ:
Traps will be on the ‘KP-Raglan’ project, but
Bait stations will be on ‘KP-Bait Lines’ project.
If you have a buddy, you can each be on a different ‘project’ and each record one set of data. Alternatively, jot down your trap data, and enter it later. Switching back and forth between projects is a bad idea!
*Be mindful - this is a long line! Trapping may only be realistic with a buddy.
